Hi welcome to ARCB GUITARS

My name is Allan, but people call me Butch (preferred). I am the owner and builder at  ARCB GUITARS, a little about myself. I am retired, but working, I must do something to keep busy, and when I am not working, I am in my garage building guitars. I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar but just never made the time (still have not), but I am trying. I have found that I am better at building than playing.

Why a Cigar Box Guitar?

In one word simplicity, not that it is simple, but the fact that you can take a Cigar Box and make an actual musical instrument that you can play is amazing. Cigar Boxes are not the only things you can use to make a playable guitar, you can use cookie tins, shovels, pallets, scrap wood. You can make them as simple as you want or as elaborate. They can be electric with varying types of pick ups or left acoustic. You can make 1, 3, 4 string, fretted or non fretted. What ever your imagination can think of!!!

BUILD YOUR OWN CBG !!

My goal here is to introduce you to the Cigar Box Guitar, the assorted styles, types, and materials you can use to build a CBG, with hope that I am able to inspire you to try and build one for yourself!!! You will also learn the history, origins of the CBG. I will post pictures of my builds, I will try to do a video of current and future builds (never done before, so hopefully it will not be a mess). Generally, try to cover all aspects of building a Cigar Box Guitar.
