Nos. 1 “88”
This guitar is nos. 1 of 4, I had a 1988 Ford F-150 that I recently sent to the scrap yard, but before I took it in I removed the hub caps. I thought hey could live on as guitars.
Nos. 1 “88” has a 32” reclaimed pallet wood neck, not sure what kind of wood it is but it has some great color and grain. Neck has a router 1/4” round over detail on the bottom side from the hub cap body to the nut. It has a open back.
Fret lines have been drawn in pencil, and sealed with varathane. The tuning pegs are all fully sealed locking pegs. Fret markers are a mixture of nos. 8 Robertson stainless steel metal screws and nos. 8 Robertson brass wood screws. I also used nos. 6 Robertson brass and zinc wood screws as position markers along top of the neck. Strings are steel .012, .016, .020. Tuned to “Open G”
G-D-G
Bridge is a 2-1/2” piece of threaded rod on top of a 2-1/2” maple biscuit, nut consists of 3, 5/32nd metal screws, and finally the tailpiece is a Satin Nickel Door Strike Plate.
Nos. 1 “88” is amplified by a 1-1/8th” round disc Piezo pickup placed under the bridge.
If you have any comments, questions please don’t hesitate to send them along and I will do my best to answer. I will be posting more of my CB guitars.
So until next time take care, happy building, and remember
All you need is 3 Strings !!
