ARCB GUITARS

“PALLET”

Pallet started life as a wooden pallet which I found at work. It was in really great condition . I am not sure what kind of wood it is but it has great color and grain. The only parts of guitar not made with the pallet wood is the top and bottom. I used 1/4″ red Oak laminate for those. The top/bottom and sides were all left Natural and sealed with Varathane Clear Gloss finish.

The neck is a 32″ piece of pallet wood, which was cut from the longer frame of the pallet. It has 1/4″ round-over routered detail along bottom sides from body to the nut. The neck has been stained with Varathane Antique Walnut stain and sealed with Varathane Clear Gloss finish.

There is no separate fret board the fret lines have been drawn in pencil, and the fret markers are a combination of Brass and Zinc Nos. 8- 3/4″ Robertson head wood screws. The location markers along top of neck are combination of Bras and Zinc Nos. 4- 1/2″ Robertson wood screws.

The Nut consists of 3- 5/32 metal screws, bridge is a 1-1/2″ threaded rod which is glued to a 1/4 piece of Maple to give extra string height.

The Tailpiece is a Chrome Hard Tail with string adjusters removed. Finally the tuning pegs are Brass colored fully sealed locking pegs.

Pallet is tuned to Open G

G-D-G

using Bronze Phosphor strings .024, .034, .044. The top of guitar has 2- 1/2″ sound holes with Brass tarp grommets.

Pallet has been amplified using a Piezo rod pickup place under the bridge. One really cool feature of this build it has a a built in 3- band model EQ-7545R Pre-amp Equalizer.

The amp has separate volume knob, Bass, Mid, Treb and Pres slide controls, also a Battery check. The amp is powered by a 9 Volt battery.

If you have any comments, questions please don’t hesitate to send them along and I will do my best to answer. I will be posting more of CB Guitar builds.

So until next time take care, and happy building and remember

All you need is 3 strings !!
