ARCB GUITARS

DIDDLEY BLUE

“Diddley Blue” is a small San Lotano cigar box. It is a 1 string Diddley Bow.

The body as I indicated above is a Blue San Lotano cigar box, the neck is a 32″ piece of wood which was culled from a pallet so I am not sure what type of wood it is. It does have some nice gaining and color. The neck was stained with Watco Dark Walnut and sealed with Varathane Clear Gloss.

The fret markers and location markers were burnt in using round wood burning bit. There are no fret lines.

The bridge is a 1  1/2″ piece of threaded rod. The nut is a 3/4″ 5/32″ metal screw.

The tailpiece is a 1 1/2″ metal hinge. The string and tuning peg are both leftover pieces I had lying around. I believe the gauge is .016, and it is a steel string.

“Diddley Blue” is amplified using a 1 1/8″ round Piezo pickup placed under the bridge.

If you have any comments, questions please don’t hesitate to send them along and I will do my best to answer. I will be posting more of my CB guitars.

So until next time take care, happy building, and remember
All you need is 3 Strings !!
